Traditional Banana Split

So this doesn’t really belong in here, but I’ve never had one and I feel like it is a necessary recipe for the cookbook and this recipe can serve as a reminder that everyone needs to have one of these at least once in their lives.

  • 1 banana peeled
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1 scoop chocolate ice cream
  • 1 scoop strawberry ice cream

  • 1

In an oval deep dish or a banana boat, line up the three scoops of ice cream. Cut the ends off the banana and halve length wise.

  • 2

Place the banana halves on either side of the dish, pressing down a little so they stay put.

  • 3

Top the vanilla ice cream with the pineapple, the chocolate ice cream with the chocolate syrup, and the strawberry ice cream with the crushed strawberries or strawberry sauce.

  • 4

Cover the entire concoction with walnuts and whipped cream. Top with a cherry.
