Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup softened butter
- 3 ouncese cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg yolk (reserve white)
- 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

In large bowl combine sugars, butter, cream cheese, salt, extracts and egg yolk; blend well. Stir in flour until well blended.

Chill dough for 2 hours.

On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, one-third at a time to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with lightly floured cookie cutter.

Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Leave cookie plain, or brush with lightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely on wire racks.
