Sausage Bread

ingredients

  • 3-4 packs of pizza crust-refrigerated section
  • 2 pounds of pork
  • 2 (8 oz) packages pepperoni, finely chopped
  • 5 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs - to put into mixture
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 beaten egg to spread on top of dough

    In a large skillet brown the pork sausage and pepperoni, drain well.

    In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, 2 beaten eggs, parsley flakes, garlic powder, onion powder and oregano. Stir until combined.

    Flour the counter where you are going to prepare the bread.

    Open the pizza crusts packages. Use about 1 1/2 packages for each sausage bread. Put it on the floured counter. Pinch them together to get one large crust. Use your fingers to get the dough as large and thin as possible.

    Get the sausage mixture and cover the dough. Put an even coating on the dough to cover the entire thing. Cover it all, but don’t make it too thick because you still need to roll it.

    Roll the dough until it looks like a small Stromboli. The more times you roll it the more layers there will be.

    Place on a baking sheet. Brush generously with beaten egg. Use toothpicks to hold the seam shut if necessary. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°.

    Repeat to use the remaining pizza dough.

Drain pork very well or when you cook it the oils from the meat could run out and into your oven, NOT FUN!!
