Chicken Noodle Soup
ingredients
- 4 lbs. cooked chicken
- 2 (49 oz.) cans chicken broth
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups sliced peeled carrots
- 1 1/2 cups sliced celery
- 2 T. butter or olive oil
- 1 T. lemon juice
- 8 oz. wide egg noodles
- 1 t. Italian seasoning
- 1 t. dried basil
- 1 t. dried parsley flakes
- salt & pepper to taste
directions
Place broth in large pot. Add cooked chicken, onion, carrots and celery; simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in lemon juice. Add noodles to soup mixture. Simmer 5 minutes or until noodles are tender. Stir in basil; add salt and pepper to taste.
