ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Filling:
  • 6 squares (1 oz. each) semisweet chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups chopped pecans
  • Drizzle:
  • 4 squares (1 oz. each) semisweet chocolate
  • 1 1/4 tsp shortening

    In a small bowl, mix cream, butter, and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in flour. Press into a greased 15 in x 10 in x 1 in baking pan or until golden brown. Bake 350° for 12-15 min. Then, in a large saucepan, melt chocolate with corn syrup over low heat: stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add pecans

    Spread evenly over hot crust. Bake for 25-30 min. or until firm around edges. Cool on wire rack. Melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth. Drizzle over bars.
