French Toast Casserole
ingredients
- 1 (13 - 16 oz) loaf French Bread or Brioche
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups
- half and half
- 1 cup milk
- 2 Tbs sugar
- 1 Tbs vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- dash of salt
- Topping:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 Tbs light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Cut bread into twenty 1 inch slices. Arrange slices in 2 rows in a buttered 9 X 13 baking dish, overlapping the slices. Combine remaining ingredients except topping ingredients in a bowl; whisk until blended but not frothy. Pour evenly over bread slices, spooning some between the slices. Cover and refigerate overnight.

Combine the topping ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Spread over the bread mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until puffed and light brown. Serve with maple syrup or honey.
