Homemade play-doh, that is safe and fun!! Will last months in an airtight container. Makes great gifts in a decorative tin with cookie cutters!

ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 tbs cream of tarter
  • 1 tbs oil
  • food coloring
  • essential oil (optional)

directions

combine flour, salt, water, oil and cream of tartar until mixed thoroughly. Heat over low heat, while adding food coloring, until consistency of “mashed potatoes”. Cover with a dish rag and let cool completely. If desired add few drops of lavender oil (or any other ) Kneed into ball and store in airtight container

notes

Riley and Emma LOVE helping to make the play-doh. I like adding Lavender oil for the calming properties. You can match the scent to the color. Example: lemon/yellow
