Tomato Pasta Bake

ingredients

  • 1/4 pound penne pasta
  • 1/2 pound ground hamburger
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 (15 ounce) cans CRUSHED TOMATOES or CRUSHED TOMATOES in THICK PUREE
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Italian blend cheese

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 13 x 9 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Cook penne pasta according to package directions. Drain well; cover and keep warm.

    2. Brown hamburger , green bell pepper and mushrooms drain well. Add CRUSHED TOMATOES, basil and salt; mix well. Bring mixture to a boil. Remove and add pasta; mix well. Cover and bake for 15 minutes.

    3. Remove from oven and sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
