STUFFED FRENCH TOAST
A delicious breakfast for Christmas morning. This is a favorite of my family for the holidays.
ingredients
- 1 large loaf thick-sliced Texas Toast(white)
- 1 dozen eggs
- 2 (8 oz. packages) cream cheese
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup sugar-cinnamon mixture
directions

Butter 11x14 baking dish. Cut bread into 1 inch cubes. Put half the bread in baking dish. Cut the cream cheese in 1/2 cubes and place on top of bread. Cover with remaining bread. In large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, butter and syrup. Pour slowly over bread making sure all bread is moist.

Cover loosely with foil and refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture & bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until set in the middle. It should turn a nice golden color when fully baked.
notes
This is a breakfast that you will make time and time again. You can prepare it the day before baking and have for a morning brunch.
