"THE" Rabinovich/Berger Flan Recipe
This recipe is my mother’s (Norma Rabinovich) flan recipe and we have made it for countless celebrations and other events in South Texas that the Canadian Shapiro’s have participated in. It originates in Mexico which is where my parents grew up (long story…) What I like most about this recipe is that as long as you keep two cans of condensed milk in your pantry, you typically always have the rest of the ingredients needed for this recipe (sugar, eggs, milk) so it is an easy recipe to make without going to the grocery store as long as you make it the night before. I have this recipe memorized and all I have to remember is 5-2-2 plus sugar. This is a very easy recipe and people love this flan.
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 (14 ounce) cans of Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cans regular milk (you will use the same two cans of Eagle once they are emptied so
- you will need enough milk to fill the two empty cans)
