Spicy Glazed Pecans
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbsp water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 cups pecan halves
preheat oven 350
1) Butter large baking sheet
2) Combine first 4 ingredients in small sauce pan, stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil 2 minutes.
3) Add pecans, stir until coated, about 1 minute.
4) Spread evenly over baking sheet. Mixture will be very hot; use a spoon to spread. Bake until beginning to brown, about 13 minutes.
5) Place on parchment lined sheet pan, separate with fork. Cool completely. Can be made 1 week ahead. Store in an air tight container.
Can also use cinnamon, cumin, or chili powder.
