Spicy Glazed Pecans

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 Tbsp water

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 2 cups pecan halves

  • preheat oven 350

  • 1) Butter large baking sheet

  • 2) Combine first 4 ingredients in small sauce pan, stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil 2 minutes.

  • 3) Add pecans, stir until coated, about 1 minute.

  • 4) Spread evenly over baking sheet. Mixture will be very hot; use a spoon to spread. Bake until beginning to brown, about 13 minutes.

  • 5) Place on parchment lined sheet pan, separate with fork. Cool completely. Can be made 1 week ahead. Store in an air tight container.

  • Can also use cinnamon, cumin, or chili powder.
