Pecan-Orange Biscuits
ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp. orange zest
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, chilled, cut into 1/2" cubes
- 1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
- 1 cup + 2T buttermilk

preheat oven 425

1) Combine first 5 ingredients in bowl. Add butter, and blend with fingers until mixture resembles coarse meal; small pea size. Coarser the mixture, the flakier the biscuit.

2) Mix in pecans and l cup of buttermilk. Stir just until dough forms, do not over mix.

3) Place on floured board. Pat out to 3/4” disk. Cut into 2” rounds. Place on ungreased baking sheet, brush tops with remaining buttermilk.

4) Bake until golden brown, about 18 minutes

Serve with honey butter (mix in orange zest)
