Grandma B's Spanish Hash
This is a recipe that Gramma Bargo found years ago and loved to make it. It was just OK then, but I had to put it in here, because I think she would have given it to me to add!
ingredients
- 1 lb. Lean ground beef
- 2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 c. uncooked Minute Rice
- Beef Broth
- 1 can 14-16 oz tomato, drain and reserve liquid
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 16 oz Pkg. Green beans
directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350.
- 2
In skillet, cook beef, onion and green pepper until meat is lightly browned.
- 3
Stir in rice; cook 2 minutes longer. Add enough broth to reserved tomato liquid to make 2 cups; stir broth mixture, tomatoes, chili powder, salt and beans into mixture.
- 4
Heat to boiling; stir well and cover.
- 5
Bake 30-40 minutes until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
notes
Gramma didn't cook too much, but this was really one thing that I can remember her making alot, especially when she lived at Mom & Dad's house.
