Country Sausage Stuffing for Turkey
Amazing, robust stuffing for your turkey
ingredients
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3/4 cup chopped celery
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 10 cups dry bread cubes
- Chicken broth or bullion
directions
Cook sausage in skillet, breaking it up and crumbling as it cooks. Pour off and discard all but 1/2 cup of accululated liquid. Add celery and onion to sausage in skillet. While cooking, add the salt, pepper, oregano and basil. Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Add sausage mixture and enough chichen broth to moisten. Mix together gently. Will stuff one 12-14 lb Turkey. Bake extra in ungreased casserole at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
