Philly Cheese-steak

ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper strips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 package Veggie Steak Strips or beef steak strips
  • 3 tablespoon Italian salad dressing
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 (6- to 7-inch long) hoagie buns, split
  • 4 slices (1oz. each) mozzarella cheese

    1. In large nonstick skillet cook mushrooms, onion and bell pepper in oil over medium heat about 8 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring frequently. Stir in Veggie Steak Strips (or beef steak strips), salad dressing, red pepper (if desired), pepper and garlic. Cook and stir over medium-high heat about 3 minutes or until heated through.

    2. Place bun bottoms on baking sheet. Spoon Steak Strip mixture onto bun bottoms. Top with cheese slices and bun tops. Bake at 400°F about 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
