Raisin and Nut CookiesConnie Raymond
Chewy, moist, delicious. Old family favorite

- 1 Cup Shortening
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 3 Cups Flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Cup Chopped nuts
- 1 Cup Raisins
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Place raisins in a microwavable bowl with 2-3 Tablespoons of water. Microwave until raisins are plump and moist.
Cream Shortening, Brown Sugar and Eggs.
Add dry ingredients and mixed nuts in order given. Add raisins and the water they were microwaved in. Bake 10-12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
I have loved these cookies since childhood.
