My Favorite Brisket Flavoring
This is just the way I season the brisket. Your butcher will help you to have it preseasoned and tell you how long to cook it depending on the size you get.
ingredients
- 1 pre seasoned Brisket
- 2 yellow onions - sliced
- 1 tbls Lawrys seasoned salt
- 1 tbls Lawrys seasoned pepper
- 1 tbls Lawry’s garlic salt
- 1 cup yellow mustard
- 1 cup ketsup
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
directions
- 1
Mix mustard and ketsup, salt and pepper and put aside.
- 2
Put brisket in roasting pan fat side down and cover half way with water. Season water with garlic salt, seasoned salt and seasoned pepper. Sprinkle some garlic salt over brisket. Spread mustard and ketsup mixture all over top of brisket and mix a few tbls of it in the water and then lay sliced onions on top of that. Cover pan and roast according to butcher. When almost cooked, remove brisket from water and let stand for 10 minutes. Slice across the grain and put back into the liquid, covering with the juices and continue cooking.
