Mom's Coffee Cake

It’s a family tradition! We grew up having this for breakfast on special occasions such as Christmas. Mianne won a blue ribbon at the 4-H fair and then again at the Missouri State Fair for this coffee cake!

ingredients

Cream together:
1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
Add:
1 c. milk
2 c. flour
4 t. baking powder
5 T. butter, melted
Topping:
3/4 c. brown sugar
7 T. butter, melted
1 t. cinnamon

directions

Melt 1 1/2 sticks margarine or butter before beginning recipe.

Pour batter into greased and floured glass cake pan. Melt topping and spread over batter, sprinkling nuts if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 23 minutes.
