ingredients

  • 8 oz pkg fat-free cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tbsp strawberry spreadable fruit
  • 8 - 2" slices French bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp apple pie spice (optional)
  • 1/2 cup strawberry spreadable fruit

    Spray griddle and heat to medium.

  • 2

    Combine cream cheese and fruit spread.

  • 3

    Using serrated knife, cut each slice of bread horizontally almost completely in half, forming a pocket.

    Fill pockets with cream cheese mixture.

  • 5

    Combine eggs, milk, vanilla and apple spice, if using.

  • 6

    Dip stuffed bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides.

  • 7

    Place on griddle and cook each side 3 mins, or until golden brown.

  • 8

    In small saucepan, heat remaining fruit spread, stirring frequently.

    Spoon over French Toast and serve warm.
