Beef stroganoff
Whitney’s favorite
ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. green onions and tops
- 1 pod minced garlic
- 1/2 lb. sliced mushrooms (8oz.)
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1/2 - 3/4 c. sherry
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 can beef consomme
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 lb. medium noodles
- 1 c. sour cream
directions
Brown onion, garlic and mushrooms in butter. (I mostly just use a jar or can of mushrooms and skip this step). Add meat and brown. Drain meat. Add liquids, salt and pepper. Simmer 15 minutes. Add uncooked noodles, cover and cook until tender, about 7 minutes. Add sour cream; stir gently. Sprinkle parsley on top. Serves 4. Freezes well.
