Chinese Pepper Steak
ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb sirloin steak (1" thick)
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 clove garlic (crushed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 large green peppers (sliced)
- 2 large onions (sliced thin)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts
- 1 can (large)sliced mushrooms (drained)
- 1 can bean sprouts
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 beef bouillon cube (dissolved in 3/4 cup water)
- 1 TBSP cornstarch (dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water)
- 4 green onions

Freeze steak for 1 hour before slicing into thin slices. Heat oil in large skillet; add garlic, salt, ginger and pepper. Saute until garlic is golden. Remove garlic. Add steak and brown slightly. Remove meat; add peppers and onions, cook 3 minutes. Return meat to pan and add soy sauce, sugar, bouillon, chestnuts, corn starch, green onions, mushrooms. and bean sprouts.

Simmer 2 minutes or until sauce thickens.
