Duff's Bread Pudding
This bread pudding recipe is from Duffs Smorgasbord. If you like bread pudding your going to love this.
ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3/4 cups powdered milk
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup melted margarine
- 1 pound-day-old bread torn in fourths
- Sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup powdered milk
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups water (divided)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 drops yellow food coloring in 1 cup of water

Blend together water and powdered milk, add eggs and mix.

Blend salt, sugar and vanilla and then add to your powdered milk and eggs. Add raisins and melted margarine and mix well.

Mix bread into liquid until lightly moistened, don’t over mix.

Bake in well greased 8“ x 8” x 2"pan at 350deg. tell lightly browned about 30 minutes. You want your pudding moist so be careful not to over bake it.

Mix in saucepan all dry ingredients and blend in 1/2 cup water

Add vanilla and the remaining water.

Cook over medium heat till thickened.

Pour over warm bread pudding
