Ever Famous Funeral Potatoes

ingredients

  • 7 medium potatoes, cooked and shredded or 1 1/2 bags frozen hash browns.
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 c. chopped onions or dried onions
  • 1 1/2 c. grated cheese
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • Milk as needed so it is not too dry
  • 1 c. corn flakes, crumbled

directions

Grate potatoes. Mix all together and top with crushed corn flakes. Refrigerate overnight. Bake for 45 - 60 minutes at 350 degrees. Can be made ahead and kept refrigerated or can freeze easily. I like to make a big batch and then freeze in our family size servings in ziplcok freezer bags. When laid out flat in the bag, they thaw quickly.
