Elizabeth's First Spinach Salad
Here’s a salad that we totally love...very versatile and kid friendly to boot...(courtesy of the fire fighters from Grant’s fire station). Grant made us dinner the day we brought Elizabeth home from the hospital - it was the first time we had this salad. Needless to say it has a special memory attached to it for us. We know that Whitney, Scott and Katie will have many of their own special dinners that they can look back upon and smile.
ingredients
- Briannas Homestyle Poppy Seed Dressing
- Glazed Walnuts (Emerald nuts makes ’em)
- Spinach
- Sliced Strawberries
- All of the above ingredients can be measured to taste...just combine and enjoy!
- How to mix it up:
directions
The strawberries can be exchanged with peaches, apples, oranges - anything really (our personal favorite are nectarines). The nuts don’t have to be glazed, or even walnuts for that matter - use whatever you like or none at all. Add grilled or broiled chicken to make it a meal. The dressing makes the salad, so try not to improvise that ingredient (you can always find both the dressing and walnuts at the local Safeway).
