Cut-out Cookies
Lauren Bezilla King
ingredients
- Cup Butter - Softened (room temperature)
- 2/3 Cup granulated Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/2 Cups Flour - Sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350° and butter cookie sheets.
- 2
Cream butter & sugar well. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- 3
In separate bowl, combine flour and salt, then mix with above mixture.
- 4
Chill dough for approx. 3 hours in refrigerator. (I put the cookie dough into a large zip-lock bag to store.)
- 5
(When you take the chilled dough out of the refrigerator, it will be hard. Let it become easier to work with by letting it warm a little at room temperature.)
- 6
On floured surface, roll out to 1/8" thick. Cut into shapes, and top with sugar mixed with Jello crystals.
- 7
Bake at 350 degrees on a greased sheet for approx 8 minutes.
- 8
Let cool on pan before removing. Store in a covered container.
