Taco Meat
Adapted from The Joy of Cooking
ingredients
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1/2 medium onion, diced
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- pinch of crushed anise seeds (optional)
- kosher salt
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- hot red pepper sauce
directions
Heat oil over medium heat and saute onions 4-5 minutes. Raise heat to medium-high and add meat. Cook until no longer pink. Stir in spices, tomatoes, and hot sauce. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally for ten minutes.
