Amish Shoo-Fly Pie
ingredients
Crumb mixture- 2 Cups flour
- 3/4 Cup brown sugar
- 1/3 Cup butter
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1 Cup molasses
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1 tsp baking soda dissolved in hot water

Thoroughly mix crumb mixture ingredients together in a bowl until crumbs are formed. Line two 8” pie plates with half the crumb mixture, reserving the other half for the topping later.

In a separate bowl, mix syrup ingredients thoroughly. Pour half of the syrup mixture into each unbaked crumb-lined pie plate, then sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.

Bake at 400° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° and continue baking for 50 minutes more. Cool before eating.
