Peanut Blossoms

ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Milk chocolate candy kisses

Preheat oven to 375°.

In large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients except candy kisses. Blend well at low speed. Shape into balls using a rounded teaspoon or small ice cream scoop for each. Roll balls in additional sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven. Immediately top each cookie with a candy kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around edge. Remove to wire rack to cool.
