London Broil
ingredients
- 1 envelope Italian Salad Dressing Mix
- 1/4 C red wine
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb. London broil -- (or flank steak)
directions
Score flank steak 1/8 inch deep in crisscross pattern on both sides. Combine the dressing mix with wine and oil in a shaker container. Pour over the meat in a shallow pan and marinate, covered in the refrigerator overnight or for 8 hours. Broil or grill the meat to desired doneness and discard remaining marinade. After marinade is discarded- calories 194, Fat 10 grams. The nutrition counts are misleading in this recipe because it counts the marinade whereas we know most of the marinade is drained off leaving the flavor behind.

NOTES : Speed Alert: Long marinating time. A 1 pound London broil is hard to come by. Buy a larger one and save the leftovers for sandwiches or another dish or meal.
