ingredients

  • 1 lb. extra lean ground beef -- (93% lean)
  • 3/4 C chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 C chili sauce -- or catsup
  • 1/4 C brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 hamburger buns -- low calorie

directions

In large skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion until brown; drain. Add garlic salt, pepper, chili sauce, brown sugar, white vinegar, mustard and tomato sauce. Cool and freeze if you aremaking this ahead for a later meal.

To prepare for serving, thaw hamburger sauce and bunss. Heat sauce until bubbly, and serve on warm buns.
