Quiche Lorraine
a simple but elegant dish for parties and a special bunch
ingredients
- Plain pastry dough
- 1 tablespoon bacon drippings
- 1 cup thinly sliced onions
- 1 and 1/2 cups cubed gruyere cheese
- 4 slices bacon crumbled
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and white pepper
directions
Line a pieplate with pastry and bake in oven 325 degrees 5 minutes. cook the onions in bacon drippings until thy are transparent. cover the pastry with the cheese, opin and crumbled bacon. combine the remaining ingrediants and pour on top . Bake in pre heated oven 450 degrees for 10 minuts then reeduce eat to 350 and bake until knife inserted in cnter comes out clean
