Cheese Grit Casserole
ingredients
- 4 C milk
- 1 C grits
- 1/2 C butter
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2 t baking powder
- t salt
- 1 C cheddar cheese (shredded)
- dash of cayenne pepper

Preheat oven to 375

Bring 3 1/2 C milk to boil.

Gradually stir in grits over medium heat for 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and add butter stirring until melted.

Stir in eggs, baking powder, salt and remaining milk.

Pour into 2 qt. casserole dish and bake uncovered for 30 minutes.

Sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake 15 more minutes.
