Macaroni 'n' Cheese
ingredients
- 2 cups dry elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Pepper to taste
- 3 cups milk
- 1 1/2 package (12 oz.) Kraft Deli Deluxe Sharp Cheddar

Cook elbow macaroni as directed on package.

Melt butter over medium heat in large pan or skillet. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Add the milk and stir constantly over medium heat until it thickens.

Once the milk as thickened, turn heat to low and add in cheese. Stir until cheese is thoroughly melted. Add drained, cooked macaroni.

Pour into greased baking dish. If desired, top the macaroni with melted butter and crushed crackers.

Refrigerate or freeze if necessary.

When ready to cook, place dish in a preheated 375° oven and bake, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes until bubbly.
notes
Adding the milk and cooking until it thickens is a long, slow process but its best to take your time and not scald the milk.
