Vegetable Biryani

ingredients

  • Basmati rice 1 kg
  • Pure ghee
  • Finely cut onions 2-3
  • Chopped potatoes 3-4
  • Small tomatoes chopped 7-8
  • Green beans
  • Carrots
  • Hara masala
  • Yogurt 1/4 kg
  • Lemon juice 2-3 lemons
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Haldi little
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp

    - Fry the vegetables in oil and set aside (do not fry the tomatoes)

    - Fry the onions til golden brown

  • 3

    - Remove half of the onions and set aside

  • 4

    - Grind hara masala and yogurt to make a mixture

  • 5

    - Add this mixture to remaining onions in pot; add haldi, red chili powder, salt and garam masala. Cook 1-2 minutes

    - Now add tomatoes and cook til tender

  • 7

    - Now add fried vegetables and cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes

    - Set this agni aside separately

    - Now boil some water to cook rice. Add salt, some hara masala, 3-4 green chillies, whole garam masala to the water. After water starts boiling, add the rice

  • 10

    - Cook rice (until one kani), then drain the water and set aside rice

  • 11

    - In a pan (in which you can bake), layer the rice first, then add the vegetable agni, sprinkle the lemon juice and the fried onions that were set aside

  • 12

    - And then layer the remaining rice on top, sprinkle some ghee and then bake for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!
