Christmas Sugar Cookies
A Smith tradition.
ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
- 2 teaspoons almond flavoring
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt

Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs, sour cream, honey, and flavorings.

Sift together dry ingredients. Mix into the butter and sugar mixture until well-combined.

Chill in freezer in small bowls for at least 30 minutes.

Roll dough into 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness and cut. Chilling dough as necessary.

Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets and freeze at least 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 325°.

Remove sheet from freezer and bake for 8-10 minutes until cookies appear golden.

Cool and frost.
