Sugar Cookies
ingredients
- 2/3 cup softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 T. milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
directions
Cream together butter and sugar, add eggs, milk and vanilla (I beat the egg with the milk and vanilla, then add). Mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight. Roll out to 1/4" thick, and cut into what ever shape you want. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes.

You might want to double the recipe, they will be a family favorite. We make them for all holidays, not just Christmas. Be careful when rolling out not to use to much flour, you don't want the cookies to become hard.
