Puyallup Fair Scones
Be sure to have plenty of real butter and raspberry preserves on hand....mmmmm.
ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup cream (or milk)
- 2 eggs, beaten (save 1 tsp.)
directions
Mix all ingredients, let sit 10 minutes. Pat out on floured surface, an 8 inch circle, like a dome. (Higher in the center - 3/4 inches- and 1/2 inch on side. Rub with 1 tsp. egg and 1 tsp milk mixture. Dust with sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes. The aroma will get your family out of bed!
