Chicken Streleski Caccitore
I always wash and trim my chicken for a quality finish. If you buy boneless, skinless breast pieces, slice them horizontally in equal thicknesses!
ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken breasts (can use legs, thighs, etc. if desired)
- 1 lg can Contadina tomato sauce (pint)
- 1 TBL Italian seasoning
- 1 TBL Garlic, minced
- 1 Tsp. Thyme
- 1 TBL Sugar
- (Sometimes it’s bland and I shake in addtl. garlic powder, basil, oregano. If too tomato-y, add a dash more sugar)

Brown in olive oil either plain, or dredged in flour. Sprinkle with pepper and salt while cooking in large, heavy fry pan. Add tomato sauce and seasonings, sugar. Cook SLOWLY for another 45 minutes, turn chicken once or twice.

Serve with rice or spaghetti.
notes
Dredged means.. meat moistened with water, milk, or egg, & coated with flour. Can use a paper/ plastic bag and shake, or large bowl and coat both sides.
