Corn Custard
My mother makes this at all holiday functions.
ingredients
- 3 T butter
- 3 T flour
- 1 t salt
- dash pepper
- 1 T sugar
- 1/2 c. light cream
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 large can whole kernel corn
- 1 can creamed corn
- 3 eggs, well beaten
directions
Melt butter in saucepan. Slowly add flour, salt and sugar and stir until smooth turn heat up to medium and add cream and milk. blend in until thick and smooth. Stir in corn. Add eggs and thoroughly blend in. Pour concoction into a casserole dish, place that dish into a holding dish filled with water. bake at 350 for 1.5 hours or until firm and browned on top.
