Gram's Chicken Paprikash
Takes a little bit of work but it is worth it! This meal is delicious!!
ingredients
- 5 boneless chicken breasts
- 2 t. oil or butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 t. paprika
- 1 t. salt
- 1/4 t. pepper
- chicken broth
- 1 pint sour cream
- 4 t. flour
- Dumplings:
- 3 eggs
- 1 t.salt
- 1 c. flour, approximately

Cut chicken into bite sized pieces.

Fry onion in oil or butter. Add salt, pepper, paprika and saute until brown in the bottom of a dutch oven. Remove from pan.

Brown chicken in dutch oven and cover chicken with broth, cook until chicken in tender.

Add onions back into pan.

Mix flour with the sour cream and add a little chicken broth. Add sour cream mixture to chicken very slowly stirring constantly. Mixture will begin to thicken.

To make dumplings, mix eggs, flour and salt together. Use enough flour to form soft dough balls.

While mixture is still thickening, add dumplings by dropping a spoonful into the hot broth. Keep dipping while occasionally stirring mixture.

Boil 7-10 minutes over low heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
notes
Add more paprika, according to your taste.
