Calico Beans

This hearty dish is from JoAnne Drewno. It is a favorite of the family, at the lake most years.

  • ½ pound ground beef

  • ½ pound bacon

  • ¾ cup chopped onion

  • 1-15 oz can Kidney beans, partially drained

  • 1-15 oz Can Northern beans, drained

  • 1-15 oz Can Pork and Beans

  • ½ Cup Ketchup

  • 1 Tbsp. Mustard

  • 2 Tbsp. Vinegar

  • ½ Cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ Cup brown sugar

  • ¼ Tsp. Ginger

  • Brown ground beef. Cook bacon, fried crisp, then cut up or grind into small pieces. Add chopped onion and cook until soft.

  • Add remaining ingredients all together then Bake at 350° for forty minutes.

  • Grandma Jo makes these for us at the lake every year!
