Mrs. Stephen's Wine Cake
Here’s a great idea on how to have your wine and eat it too, sent in by Mrs. Carl Stephen of Glendale.
ingredients
- 1 package yellow cake mix
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding
- 3/4 cup oil
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3/4 cup sherry straight wine
- 4 eggs

First, mix and stir dried ingredients together. Add oil, wine and eggs--one at a time. Then, beat well with an electric beater for 5 minutes. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 50 to 60 minutes in a 350° oven.

For frosting try this simple water and confectioners sugar variety, or any mildly flavored favorite of yours.
