No-Fail Pie Crust
ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup water

Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening together with a fork until mealy.

Beat egg in 1/2 cup water. Pour into dry mixture. Mix with a fork.

Flour counter and hands. Put dough in a ball and split in half. Place clean, damp dish towel over the balls. Let sit 1/2 hour to 1 hour.

Roll out the dough and place in pie plate.

Bake or fill pie crust. While baking, cover edges of crust with foil, and remove the last 15 minutes of baking.
