Justin Wilson had one of the first T.V. cooking shows. Kendall got this recipe from one of his show before we had kids. It is wonderful and uses a large cooking bag. This make clean up a breeze. It has wine but the alcohol is cooked out. The wine gives the gravy a great flavor so don’t leave it out.

ingredients

  • 1-4 to 6 pound chuck roast
  • 8 potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 bag carrots, peeled and halved
  • 2 pounds mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
  • 3 cloves of garlic, peeled and halved
  • 1 whole red pepper
  • 1 small bunch green onions
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups white wine

    Salt and pepper each side of the roast. Cut 5 or 6 slits into the roast. In each slit place a slice of each; green onion, red pepper and garlic. Spray cooking bag with cooking spray and coat with flour. Place roast, potatoes, carrots and mushrooms in cooking bag on top of and around the roast. Add in worcestershire sauce and 2 cups of white wine into bag and seal the bag. With a fork, put some whole in the top of the bag to vent while cooking.

    Bake at 350 for 2 to 3 hours.
