Doug's Burger Biscuit Casserole

Contribution from Doug Black. He summers in the cherry capital of the world, Traverse City, MI, and winters in Punta Gorda, FL, famous for seatrout, snook, redfish, and hurricane Charlie.

  • 1½ lbs ground beef or ground venison

  • 4 oz can mushrooms(drained)

  • 1 8 oz can Durkee French Fried onion rings

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 pkg buttermilk biscuits

  • 1 egg

  • 1 pint sour cream

  • 1 tsp ground celery seed

  • Brown ground beef; mix soup, mushrooms, ½ of onion rings and ½ sour cream together with hamburger and put in 2½ quart casserole dish. Blend remaining sour cream, crushed onion rings, egg and celery seed in separate dish. Place biscuits on top of beef mixture. Pour blended mix over biscuits. Bake at 325 35-45 minutes.
