Memaw's Pumpkin Pie
This is the recipe that Memaw used to make for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is more of a spice pie and doesn’t use much pumpkin. I always make an extra one for Rick.
ingredients
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup Half and Half
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 pie crust, baked and cooled
directions
Mix all ingredients together in a large saucepan. Heat until bubbling and thick, stirring constantly. Pour into a pre-baked pie crust. Cool completely. Sprinkle nutmeg over top. Top with cool whip or whipped cream, if desired.
