ingredients
- 2lb. russets or yellow potatoes, such as Yukon gold.
- 3/4c. butter milk
- 1T. butter
- 1/2t. salt
- 1/4t. ground pepper
directions

1. peel and quarter potatoes. cook, covered, in a boiling salted water, 20-25 Min’s.drain.

2. meanwhile, in a small sauce pan combine butter milk, butter, salt, and pepper. heat over low heat until just warm, stirring frequently.

3. transfer potatoes to mixing bowl; mash with potato masher or beat with a mixer on low speed. slowly add buttermilk mixture, mashing until smooth.
