Neiman Marcus Cake

This recipe has made the rounds and is not only a crowd pleaser, but it’s quick and easy! Urban legend says a woman asked N-M for the recipe and they dared to charge her $100. She promptly posted the recipe on the web.

ingredients

1 box German Chocolate Cake mix
3 eggs
4 oz. melted butter (1 stick)
1/2 c. chopped pecans
8 oz. cream cheese
1 t. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar

directions

Mix cake mix, 2 eggs, butter and pecans in a bowl. (Mixture will be thick.) Spread into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Mix 1 eggs, cream cheese, vanilla and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread on top of the cake. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Cheese topping will be lightly browned. Let cool and cut into squares.
