Spiced nuts
An impressive snack food that is dead easy to make.
ingredients
- 1/4 pound of peeled nuts (this is silly really. I have no idea what a pound is. I usually just buy nuts that I like then make the recipe regardless of what I have. Basically, the recipe ends up making a bowl of nuts about the size of a pasta/laksa bowl)
- I love macadamias so you could just use them or you can choose any nuts you want.
- If you’re trying to be frugal, peanuts are fine, almonds are great, or a mixture - anything as long as they are not already roasted; you’re looking for raw nuts here.
- 2tblsp coarsely chopped fresh rosemary
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp butter

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

Spread nuts on a baking sheet and bake - they probably won’t take much more than 8 minutes in a fan forced oven but you are looking for them to be brown without being at all burnt.

When they’re done, mix everything in a bowl.

Toss the mixture with the nuts and serve warm.
