Mum's cheese straws
ingredients
- 125g plain flour
- 60g firm butter
- 60g grated tasty cheddar cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- Pinch of cayenne pepper

Pre- heat oven to 200C.
- 2
Rub butter into flour and cayenne pepper in food processor. Add grated cheese and process for 10 seconds on high. Add egg yolk and mix.

Remove from processor and add a tablespoon or so of cold water if necessary to form a firm ball.

Roll out and cut into approx. 7mm strips about 10 cm long.

Cook on greased trays for about 7 minutes or until golden. (Watch closely after 7 mins as they turn form golden to burnt very quickly!).
